Dr. Jacob Sheppard is a highly experienced and licensed dentist in Midlothian, VA. Before pursuing his childhood dream of becoming a dentist, he worked three jobs as a U.S. mail carrier, a home inspector, and a handyman with his own business. Now, Dr. Sheppard is passionate about providing cosmetic dentistry for patients through high-grade materials, such as porcelain veneers and composite resin, to help transform each of their smiles. With a devotion to continuing education, he takes advanced courses each year to enhance his dental skills so he can better serve his patients. To help put you at ease, Dr. Sheppard takes a gentle approach with the goal of creating a comfortable, positive experience.
Dr. Sheppard graduated summa cum laude from Virginia Commonwealth University, earning his Bachelor of Science in biology. He then obtained his doctor of dental surgery degree from VCU School of Dentistry where he served as class president and was recognized by the American Academy of Implant Dentistry for his excellence and skill.
Dr. Sheppard lives in Chesterfield, VA with his wife, Sharon; their two children, Jacob and Sabrina; and their four dogs, Mocha, Griffin, Trixie, and Larry. During his free time, he enjoys being outdoors with his family, woodworking, music, birdwatching, and baking cakes. Dr. Sheppard is also active with his church, attends his children's extracurricular activities, and likes to seek out volunteer opportunities.

Sycamore Family Dentistry is wonderful. I have had a fear of dentists since childhood, which is unfortunate since I had a lot of developmental issues with my teeth. Dr. Sheppard and his team are very patient, kind, and compassionate. I just recently had a lot of work done and I must say those teeth have never looked better. Dr. Sheppard is very skilled at restoration, and I highly recommend him and his team!

Dr. Sheppard and his whole office are so wonderful! I have a history of dental anxiety but feel completely comfortable every visit as Dr. Sheppard and his staff are so knowledgeable, reassuring and caring. Many of my family members also attend and we have all been very satisfied being patients here!
